What is root pressure? Explain it. Write an experiment how to

: Root pressure is the force that drives water and nutrients into xylem upwards through plants. An experiment that can be used to demonstrate this force is by simply cutting a potted plant near the ground level and what is seen is water gushing out from the decapitated plant.

Root pressure is the push pressure developed in water inside plant vessels as a result of absorbing water from the soil

Experiment: Take a plant, slice it from stem and observe it during early morning time( so that it may be differentiated from transpirational pull), you would find water oozing out of it
