Rotational analogue of force is also known as Torque or moment of force. Hence a torque can be thought of as a twist of an object.
Mathematically, torque is defined as the cross product of the vector by which the force's application point is offset relative to the fixed suspension point and the force vector which tends to produce the rotational motion.
Symbol for torque is τ
The SI unit for torque is N.m (newton meter)

Rotational analogue of force in linear motion is torque. Torque is the turning effect of force. Torque= force× perpendicular distance to line if action of force from the axis of rotation.
