-RTI ACT-
RTI (Right To Information Act) was passed in India on 12 May 2005 in the Indian Parliament. According to this act any person (citizen) of India can ask the Government to show documents related to its actions, the government should fulfill the demand of the person within 30 days (one month), if it is a matter of life and death the information should be provided within 24 hours ( one day). Although this act was passed in the India parliament on 15 May 2005, it was signed by the President of India on 15 June 2005. It came into force on 12 October 2005. It codifies the Rights of Citizens. People can raise voice against any govt. policy and can ask the govt. for its decision with the help of this act. It increases the transparency in a Democratic country like India.
