Answer :

Rusting of iron can be prevented by following ways-

• By coating the iron surface with grease or oil.
• By painting the surface of iron articles.

Note: These both methods in above cut off the contact of metal surface with air and moisture ,thus preventing rusting.

• Galvanising (Zinc Coating)
• Alloying (By mixing iron with corrosion-resistant metals )
