» First of all what is Pressure?

=> Pressure is defined as force per unit area.

i.e.

Pressure = \dfrac{Force}{Area}

Here ..

• Pressure is directly proportional to Area.

Means Pressure increases with increase in area and decrease with decrease in area.

• Pressure is inversely proportional to force.

Means pressure decreases with increase in force and increase with decrease in force.

» What is S.I. unit of pressure?

=> S.I. unit of Force is N and if Area is m².

Pressure = \dfrac{N}{{m}^{2}}

= N/m²

And we know that 1 Pa (pascal) = N/m2

So, we can also say that \textbf{S.I. unit of}

\textbf{Pressure is Pa.}
