Sales Tax:— It is levied on the goods and comodities sold in the market. It is one of the important sources of revenue for the government. The percent of sales tax varies for different types of goods sold. It is calculated as percent of the marked price or the list price. The amount, a customer will pay is the sum of list price and the tax calculated as a percent of the list price. If the shopkeeper offers discount, we first have to find the discounted price and the sales tax is calculated on the discounted price.
The list price of a frock is Rupees 480. If sales tax is charged 7%, find the selling price of the frock.
