Silva is present in mouth secreted from salivary gland. it is made up of some enzymes and mucous.

salivary enzymes: salivary enzymes contains salivary amylase which help starch to break down into disaccharide.

salivary mucous: it made the food slippery so that it easily can pass the food pipe.

→In saliva of human , there is 95% of water , and rest contains few enzymes and electrolytes.

→It is Alkaline in nature.
It's role :-

→It helps in lubrication of food.

→It helps in partial digestion of food by making bolus.

→It helps in maintaining the pH of the Mouth.
