In statistics, quality assurance, and survey methodology, sampling is the selection of a subset of individuals from within a statistical population to estimate characteristics of the whole population. Statisticians attempt for the samples to represent the population in question.

What is sampling ?

Collecting member or a set of observations of thee population to analyse the smaller population from larger population on the basis of statistical influences is called sampling .

The word sampling itself says that that its not the final data , its just for testing purpose and most accurate word if i use , it would be "analysing " the smaller data from the larger one .
