The mode of nutrition in which an organisms obtain their nutrients from dead and decaying organic Matter is called saprophytic nutrition.

Examples: Yeast,Agaricus (Mushroom),Mucor etc.

NOTE:

saprophytic nutrition is usually displayed by bacteria and fungi living in moist environment.
