Sarcasm is an ironic or satirical remark that seems to be praising someone or something but is really taunting or cutting. Sarcasm can be used to hurt or offend or can be used for comic affect. like our elders generally do beacause they can't be always unhappy and need to give a positive response.

Sarcasm is an ironic remark towards something, which you or anyone makes when one means to mean the opposite of what one is saying. Put simply, any joking/ribbing etc. can be called sarcasm, with varying degree.
