The sarcolemma (sarco (from sarx)from Greek ;flesh ,and lemma from Greek ; sheath) also called the myolemma, is the cell membrane of a striated muscle fibre cell.

In cell of the liver ,it contributes to the detoxification of drugs and harmful chemicals . the sarcoplasmic recticulum is a specialized type of smooth ER that regulates cytoplasm of strated muscle.
