There are two types of physical quantities :

Scalar Quantity :
Physical quantities that can be defined using magnitude only are known as scalar quantities.
Examples : Distance, speed,mass, density, temperature.
Vector Quantity :
Physical quantities that can be defined only if both its magnitude and direction are given.
Examples : Velocity, acceleration, force, torque.
