A scalar quantity is a one dimensional measurement of a quantity, like temperature, or mass. A vector has more than one number associated with it. A simple example is velocity. It has a magnitude, called speed, as well as a direction, like North or Southwest or 10 degrees west of North.

Heyaa..!!
Before discussing about it... Let us get to know what magnitude is..!
↪The numerical value is called as magnitude.
For example, F = 10 N
=> Here 10 is the magnitude..!!
✔ SCALAR QUANTITY
☺ The quantities that has only magnitude
For example,
Distance - # 10 kilometre
Mass - # 4 kilogram
✔ VECTOR QUANTITIES
☺ The quantities that has both magnitude and direction
For example
Displacement - # 10 kilometre west
Weight - # 65 N
