scalar... it has only value (magnitude) nd no direction...
eg.. distance,mass
vector...it has both value nd direction..
eg... displacement, weight

Scalar quantity is such a quantity to specify which you need to specify only its magnitude while vector quantity is such a quantity to specify which you need to specify its magnitude as well as its direction.Examples---scalar--- speed,mass,volume,temperature,,,vector---force,velocity,momentum,dispacement etc.
