• scalar quantity are the quantity which have only magnitude not direction or other things. they have sign .
• example of scalar quantities
• time  = time is a scalar quantity we measure time in minute ,second, years , month , and day
• volume = volume is a scalar quantity volume are measured in terms of liter ,  micrograms
• speed = speed are measure in terms of km/hour
• temperature = we calculate temperature in terms of kelvin or celsius  
• scalar quantities does not have direction we can see it from above examples we never said that time is in particular direction
