what is scattering of light

sp218: It was invented by CV Raman and was known as Raman Scattering
SaurabhKum123: but I am not asking about its founder
sp218: I don't know the answer so I am just trying to help you without wasting your points
sp218: Otherwise I would have given this same answer on the answer tab.... but I know this is not relevant so I mentioned it in the comments........ You should thank me

WHENEVER LIGHT PASSES THROUGH A COLLOIDAL SOLUTION IT GET'S DISPERSED AND IT'S PATH BECOMES VISIBLE WHICH IS ALSO KNOWN AS SCATTERING OF LIGHT.AND THE PHENOMENON IS TYNDALL EFFECT!
HOPE IT HELPED

Answer:

⇒Light scattering is the form of scattering in which light in the form of  propagating energy is scattered.

⇒It is a process of absorption and then re-emission of light energy.

⇒Scattering of light depends on the wavelength or frequency of the light               being scattered.

⇒In this process, the deflection of a ray from a straight path, for example by irregularities in the propagation medium, particles or between the interface of two media takes place.

⇒Red Light scattered the least and violet light the most because wavelength of red light is highest and the wavelength of violet light is least.
