selective scattering or Rayleigh scattering occurs when certain Particles are more effective at scattering a particular wavelength of the light the means that almost all of the light which enters clouds will be Scattered because all wavelength are scattering clouds appear to be white!!!!hope helpful

When light passes through a medium whose particle size is very small compared to the wavelength of the light, then the particles absorb light energy and distribute it in other directions.

When light radiation collides with a particle or molecule of the medium. That particle or molecule starts to oscillate, which in turn leads to particle or molecule distortion in some other direction.
