A scholarship is like an achievement for the students to pursue their education. The student who gets a scholarship on merit does not need to repay the money back to the person or the institution who has provided the scholarship. There are various types of scholar ships:

• Merit-based
• Brand based scholarships
• College specific
• Athletic

Merit based scholarship are awarded to students on the basis of their tale. Like for example if someone is good in drawing, someone is good in studies etc.

Brand based scholarships are provided by some big brands who wants to promote their product. They want to popularize their brand among the common people so they give scholarships.

College specific as the name suggest are provided by the colleges. They are given to the students if they excel in the entrance examinations or if they have achieved something big by themselves.

Athletic scholarships are given to students if they are very talented in some sport. The students will most probably be playing for the school team. Example my friend who played exceptionally well in football got an athletic scholarship for his 11th and 12th for free because he had been the main player who had helped the school win big matches.
