Schrodinger's cat is a paradoxical  thought experiment that explains the  current place of an electron at a given time

Explanation:

According to this paradox,

For example :

A cat is placed in a box with a radioactive substance which if decays will cause the bottle of poison in the box to break , which will kill the cat.

Now we seal this box in such a way we can't see anything inside the box

We know if the poison bottle breaks, the cat dies but there is no way to find out if the bottle broke

So we can't know whether the cat is dead or alive

In this case we have to open the box to find out if it did break or not

So until we open the box , we need to assume that the cat is dead/alive.

Now let see this experiment in terms of  an electron

Electrons move constantly, so they seem to be in a cloud , which is what an electron cloud by the way, so until we check where the electron really is , we need to assume that the electron is everywhere or you could say anywhere

This state  is called superposition where we assume all possible outcomes occurring at  once.
