Both knowledge and process of natural laws of environment is known as Science. It consists of biology, chemistry and physics.

  1. Bio means life and logy means study. Hence, the study of life is known as biology. It was first coined by Lamarck and Treviranus. It further consists of two branches i.e. Botany (Theophrastus is known as the father of Botany) and Zoology (Aristotle is known as the father of Zoology).
  2. Chemistry deals with the composition of matter and physical & chemical characteristics. Lavoisier is known as the father of modern chemistry.
  3. Physics means natural things. It deals with matter and energy relationship them and provide us mathematical formulas. Galileo Galilei is known as the father of modern physics.
