Answer:

Science has been well defined by now, but here are my thoughts when I think of science:

Reasoning: Why things happen, the way they happen.

Knowing our place in the scheme of things: The universe is big, just too big, what the hell we are doing in it?

Study of Life: My personal opinion is that, there is no fascinating subject more that life for us to study & understand.

Creation: Creating new things which simply don't exist in nature, from a new element to a new chemical.

Knowing: From our recent past history to the Big Bang & trying to predict our future of maybe even shaping it.

Finding order in chaos: So many things around us just seem random but we ate finding order in them which leads to predicting them & at times controlling them.

Psychology: I am so fascinated by the human mind & the workings of it that most of my reading (casual) is on this subject only.

What is everything made of: On the other end of studying the universe is the study of small, really really small right upto the hypothesised string theory, quantum foam & things at planck length.
