Hey mate

Scientific notation is method to express these numbers in a manageable fashion.

Thus 0.000 000 1 cm can be written in 1 × 10 minus 7 square

Significant figures apply to measured values. they are significant to the measurement Not to the number.

hope it's helpful for you ✌️✌️

 \underline{ \bf{Scientific \: \: Notation :}}

In Scientific Notation a no. is written in the standard form of exponential.
 \boxed{ \bf{N \: \times \: {10}^{n} }}
where, N = a no. with a single non- zero digit to the left of the decimal point and n = ab integer which may be positive, negative or zero.

 \bf{Example :}

We can write any no. in Scientific Notation like

(I) \: 62300 = 6.23 \: \times \: {10}^{4}

(II ) \: 0.00264 \: = \: 2.64 \: \times \: {10}^{ - 3}

 \underline{ \bf{Significant \: \: Figures :}}

Significant Figures are total no. of digits in any no. including the last digit whose value is uncertain.

 \bf{Example :}

(i) 0. 0025

―> Here, there are 2 significant figures.

(ii) 208

―> Here, there are 3 significant figures.
