What is scientific reason behind motion picture?

the movement of collection of pictures in a short time in a small roll in called motion picture

a motion picture is  basically a set of pictures where the time difference b/w two pictures is less than the sense of perception i.e. 1/16 th of a second. Our eyes can't differentiate b/w the two images hence the look like one single movie.
