Secularism:

  • Secularism is a policy which supports all religions equally.

  • Gandhiji said, "Morals and Ethics drawn from religion should guide politics. "

  • By the term "religion", he didn't mean any perticular religion like Hinduism or Islam. He wanted to emphasise on the values that each religion teaches us

  • India is a secular country.

  • A secular country is the one which allow individuals to practice, profess any religion or not to follow any.

  • A secular country don't give the status of State religion to any of the community.

  • The constitution of India and other secular country gives right to it's citizens to follow any religion of their choice.

  • There is no partiality in terms of religion in secularism.

  • It helps to protect the interest of all religious community.

  • The political leaders though can intervene the religious matter to ensure equality within each religious community.
