Secularism :

It is the principle according to which the state and religion are different. In a secular state there is no religion of state and neither that state supports or represses any particular religion. In a secular state every person is given right to choose his own religion and that state would not interfere in the matter of religion.

Communalism :

It is a theory or system of government in which virtually autonomous local bodies are loosely in federation.

It is the practice of advocacy of communal living or ownership. Communalism shows the loyality of an individual towards one's ethnic group rather than the society as a whole.
