Secular State means the state which do not have any official religion and where every religion is treated equally . We need a secular state in modern times to maintain peace and Harmony between people of various religious ideologies .
With the Forty-second Amendment of the Constitution of India enacted in 1976, the Preamble to the Constitution asserted that India is a secular nation. The Indian Constitution has allowed extensive interference of the state in religious affairs. India does partially separate religion and state.
