Sedimentation is the process in which particles of one matter are separated from the other on the basis of the principle of density and solubility...it is a separation technique..and in this technique the unwanted particles called sediments are filtered out from the filtrate by leaving them undisturbed and then filtering out the filtrate without disturbing the sediments... although we need the help of decantation in this process
