Sieving is a method of seperation where a sieve is used. It is used to seperate the components of a solid-solid mixture( a mixture where both the components are solids.) Example : mixture of sand and pebbles are seperated using sieving where the sand-pebble mixture is placed on a sieve. The tiny sand particles pass through the sieve leaving behind the pebbles which remain on the sieve.
