All cells are enclosed with a cell membrane. A selectively permeable cell membrane is one that allows certain molecules or ions to pass through it by means of active or passive transport...hope it helps

if some other material tries to enter inside the membrane Dosen't do so
for example-if someone tries to login in your bank account and the password is only by your finger then the sensor of only when your finger detected only then it is able to open
