Pollination :
the process of transfer of the pollen grains from anther to the stigma .

Self pollination :
it is the transfer of pollen grains from anther of the same or genetically similar flower.
it is possible only when the anthers and stigma mature simultaneously.

it is of two type
Autogamy and Homogamy

Autogamy
- the self pollination occurs between anther and the stigma of the same flower. it occurs in all those intersexual or perfect flowers which are either remain closed or where anther/stigma come in contact with stigma by gravity.

Geitonogmy
it is transfer of the pollen grain from anther of the one flower to the stigma of the flower of either same (endogamy ) or genetically similar plant.

cross pollination :
( xenogamy)
it is the transfer of the pollen from anther to the stigma of the anther flower.
