Self indicator is actually a chemical substance which can mark the end point of a titration or any other reaction along with self-participation in the reaction. For example, acidified Potassium dichromate paper turns from orange to green in presence of Sulphur dioxide.
external indicator:
Indicator which never takes part in the original chemical reaction but after completion of reaction it also changes the color of solution to indicate the endpoint. External indicators is not recommended as it leads to loss of some volume of the reaction mixture.
Redox indicator:
Redox Indicators are an indicators that undergoes a definite color change at a specific electrode potential, and shows a reversible color change between oxidized and reduced forms. Loba chemie offers wide range of redox indicators which are use as a Indicator in redox titrations.
