Answers
Semiconductor can be defined as a substance or material having electrical conductivity between that of conductors/metals such as copper, iron etc. and insulators like glass. Its resistance decreases as the temperature increases due to its special properties.
A semiconductor’s properties can be changed accordingly by adding impurities to it in a controlled manner called doping. Some Major and popular semiconductors are silicon and germanium and are vastly used in electronics industry.
a solid substance that has a conductivity between that of an insulator and that of most metals, either due to the addition of an impurity or because of temperature effects. Devices made of semiconductors, notably silicon, are essential components of most electronic circuits.
