It is derived out of the specific sense organs of the body. Their experiences of sensation are color, sound, taste, smell, heat, and also the pleasure derived out of the external world. Every kind of sensation is received by the specific sense organ out of the specific stimulus.

CHARACTERISTICS OF SENSATIONS:

• Projection—the sensation seems to come from the area where the receptors were stimulated.
• Intensity—some sensations are felt more distinctly and to a greater degree than are others.
• Contrast—the effect of a previous or simultaneous sensation on a current sensation, which may then be exaggerated or diminished.
