• When we write a sentence we must remember these things :

• The words must be placed in their proper order to make complete sense.

• The sentence must begin with a Capital Letter

• A full stop (.), a question mark (?) or a sign of exclamation (!) must be placed at the end of a sentence.

• The word 'I' is always written in Capital Letter.

A sentence that states or declares some thing is called an Assertive sentence. It is also known as Declarative sentence or a Statement.

Examples :

• The sun rises in the east.
• Two and two make four.
• All boys love games.
• Birds love open air life.

All assertive sentences end with a full stop [.] .

A sentence that asks a question is called an Interrogative sentence or a Question.

Examples :

• Why are you late ?
• Have you done your work ?
• Are you hungry ?
• Is this your book ?

All Interrogative sentences end with a sign of interrogation [?].

A sentence that expresses a command, request or an advice is called an Imperative sentence.

Examples :

• Post this letter. (Command)
• Please give me your pen. (Request)
• Take this medicine regularly. (Advice)

All Imperative sentences end with the full stop [.] .

A sentence that expresses some strong or sudden feelings is called an Exclamatory sentence.

Examples :

All Exclamatory sentences or Exclamatory words end with end up with a sign of exclamation [!].
