What is a Septic Tank:
The septic tank is a huge container that is water-tight and is usually made up of concrete.
How is it used:
It's job is to hold waste water till the solid or substances in the waste water settle down. All the waste water from your sink to you bathroom is collected in the septic tank.
How does it work:
When it is holding the waste water the solid/heavy substances go to the bottom of it where as the lighter things go the top like oil. The liquid is then exist the tank into a shallow field known as drainfield. The drainfield has soil in it through which the most amount of waste is naturally cleaned by the soil.
