sewage is waste produced due to household means .it is harmfull to discharge it in rivers as it may contaminate drinking water,affect marine life and health of ppl

sewage is a flowing combination of waste water and human excrement. It may consist of tissue papers

Sewage should not be discharged into water bodies because;

> it contains chemical substances that can cause damage to water bodies that supports life

> bacterial content of sewage such as E coli can infect water and cause diseases

>plastic waste and tissue papers can pollute water hence making it harmful

>bacteria in sewage uses up oxygen as they decompose organic wastes hence leading to suffocation of other living organisms

>fertilizer chemicals such as nitrogen and phosphorus can cause excessive growth of algae
