Sewage is a type of wastewater that is a mixture of water along with harmful and unwanted pollutants produced by a community of people (usually by houses).

It is harmful to discharge untreated sewage into rivers, seas or any other water bodies because it polllutes the water and leads to water pollution, causing many harms to the environment like death of aquatic animals, water borne diseases such as cholera, jaundice, etc.
