Each cell in our body carries genetic information on chromosome present inside the nucleus. Each human cell has 23 pairs of chromosomes.of these , two chromosomes determine the sex of the baby anm are known as the sex chromosomes.The sex chromosomes are of two types : X and Y . Female cells contain the XX pair , while male cells contain XY pair. Gametes contain only one set of chromosomes consisting of one member of each pair . Hence , a sperm may contain 22 chromosomes and one chromosome.

When fertilization takes place , any one of the two of sperms can fuse with the egg to produce a zygote . Th zygote may have the full 22 pairs of chromosomes along with either an XX pair of sex chromosomes (girl ) or an XY pair of sex chromosomes (boy ) . This is how the sex of a baby is determined.

Hope that helps you⭐⭐⭐⭐!!

Hey mate..
=========

In Human beings , 23 pairs (46) of chromosomes are present. Out of these , 22 pairs have a maternal and paternal copy. These chromosomes determine the characters other than sex. The 23rd pair of chromosomes are called sex chromosomes. Women has a perfect pair of sex chromosomes both called 'X' while men has a mismatched pair in which one is a normal- sized 'X' while the other one is a short one called 'Y' chromosomes. So , Women has 'XX' sex chromsomes while men has 'XY' sex chromosomes.

All children will inherit an 'X' chromosome from their mother whether they are boys or girls. It means the sex of a children is determined from what they inherit from their father. A child who inherits an 'X' chromosome from his father will be a girl and the one who inherits a 'Y' chromosome from his father will be a boy.

This is what we call ''sex \: determination''
