in sexual reproduction in humans two parents are required to form a new one. the male transfers sperm to the female's body during sexual intercourse. egg is produced in female's body. the sperm meets and fuse to the egg and forms zygote and thus day by day, the size of zygote increases. after 8 weeks the zygote is called as embryo.and after completing 9 months, a baby is born.

an important point to note is the sex of the baby i.e. whether it is girl or boy, depends on the sperm that father transfers. it contains sex chromosomes-X and Y. and the egg contains X X chromosome. thus if father transfers X chromosome, then there is a girl, and if it is Y chromosome, then it is a boy.
