the form of agriculture in which the area of a ground is cleared of vegetation and cultivated for a few years and then abundant for a new area until its fertility has been naturally restored is called shifting agriculture.
OR
the agriculture in which tribals or farmers clear a patch of forest land and burnt it for their agricultural practice and leave the patch for one or two years after the land has lost its productivity. and in the course of time the land is replenished with nutrients. This is called shifting agriculture or slash and burn agriculture.

shifting cultivation = it is a type of farming a firld by clearing the vegitetion..
in this cultivation the farmer chose a small patch of land and clear the field fy cuting the tress and use the land for farming.. when the crop is harvested they burn the remove part and chose another pach of land to cultivate ..
