shifting cultivation is the cultivation in which the tribals first use one plot and using its all nutrients the burn everything there an left it barren for years. after burnining no one could use that plot and becomes useless.that is the reason whyBritish government ban it

Shifting cultivation is a type of cultivation in which a piece of land is cleared by falling trees and allow it to burn and then the seeds are down in their ashes . The British government banned it because it resulted in large scale deforestation
