Short circuiting
In short circuit , the live wire and neutral wire comes together and this makes the resistance zero.
The resistance is zero hence a heavy current passes through the wire
Thus the wire catches fire.
Over loading
If the total current passing through the appliance is more than the rating of the appliance it leads to current overloading.
The appliance may get affected due to heavy current passage.
