hey dear your answer

Explain what is short circuiting and overloading in an electric supply. ... Short circuiting: Whenever live and neutral wires come in contact with each other, the incident is called short circuiting. In this case, resistance of a circuit decreases to a very small value. The decreasing of resistance increases the current.

Short circuiting

In short circuit , the live wire and neutral wire comes together and this makes the resistance zero.

The resistance is zero hence a heavy current passes through the wire

Thus the wire catches fire.

Over loading

If the total current passing through the appliance is more than the rating of the appliance it leads to current overloading.

The appliance may get affected due to heavy current passage.

Hope it helps you
