Short sightedness is the defect of an eye in which a person can see near objects clearly but far objects are not clear to him. Concave lens is used for correcting shortsightedness.
Explanation:
The main reason of the shortsightedness is that cornea which is outer layer of eye becomes too curved. It can be cured by using concave lens.
In shortsightedness the image of the object is formed in front of the retina. Concave lens of proper focal length when used brings the image on the retina and the person can see the far objects clearly.
