Short sitedness is a defect in which a lerson can see nearby objects distinctly but cannot see distant objects clearly.

This defect arises due to the decrease in focal length of the lense because of

excessive curvature of eye lense

elongation of eyeball

It can be corrected by using Concave lense.

A concave lense of suitable power will bring back the image on retina.
