Hey mate!!
Shotgun sequencing involves randomly breaking up DNA sequences into lots of small pieces and then reassembling the sequence by looking for regions of overlap.
Hope this will help you...

Answer:
Shotgun sequencing can be defined as a laboratory technique for determining the DNA sequence of genome in organisms. It involves breaking the genome DNA fragments so that they are sequenced individually. In other words, it is the genetics method used for sequencing random DNA strands. DNA from many copies of an entire chromosome is cut into fragments. After this, the fragments are inserted into plasmids and cloned in bacteria. Plasmid DNA is isolated from the bacteria, purified, and sequenced individually.
