Proof

Consider the equation ax² + bx + c = 0

Where a , b , c are real number and a ≠ 0

Dividing the given equation by a ( a ≠ 0 ) ,

we get

 {x}^{2}   +  \frac{b}{a}  \times  +  \frac{c}{a}  = 0

By adding and subtracting ( b / 2a )² , we get

This formula for finding the roots of the quadratic equation is often referred to as the quadratic formula . as this formula was given by an ancient Indian mathematician Sridharacharya's formula .
