Shrinking of forests means reduction of forests and forest cover. It is mostly caused by people, either because trees are cut for fuel, timber or the land is needed for construction or for other developmental purpose.Another cause for shrinking of forests might be because of acquiring land for agricultural purpose, or for raising livestock, etc. and also for increasing population growth. Natural factors such as floods, incidences of forest fire might be some of the causes for the same.
