A shunt noise clipper is also called a parallel positive clipper. When a diode is connected to the input, in shunt, and then, the positive part of wave forms is attenuated by circuit, then a circuit is said to be a shunt noise clipper.

Here , the series connection is established between the  resistor and the diode, and output is generated across the diode.
