(sin A + cosA)^2 - 2 (sinA cosA)
= sin^2 A +cos^2 A+2sinAcosA- 2 sinAcosA
(Canceling + 2sinAcosA- 2 sinAcosA)
=sin^2 A+ cos^2 A
=1

Hope it helps

mannamariam: thank you so much!
