The single-member executive  system means that all executive powers belong in one Head of State, for example,  that all the executive powers are exercised by the President. He is head of the state as well as the head of the govt.

The advantages of a single-member executive are

1. There is one drawback of a presidential structure: the head of state is always chosen by popular voting. This strengthens the president's legitimacy with respect to democracy, as the voters actually nominate him instead of just appointing him.
2. Another advantage of a presidential structure is its flexibility, as presidents are typically elected to serve while the Prime Minister 's government can collapse at any moment.
3. Indeed, the presidential system requires authority to be split because the judiciary has a very different structure and organisation. This allows a network of controls and balance points to be formed in order to manage each other. Since presidents typically have stronger legislative powers that permit succession and reform rapidly, the speed and commitment of a Presidential structure can be seen as advantageous.

The disadvantage of a single-member executive form of government are
